Course Description
Hydrogen Sulphide (H2S) Awareness training is ideal for individuals who require an understanding of safe work practices and procedures in the event of (H2S) exposure in the workplace.  Exposure to Hydrogen Sulphide (H2S) can result in immediate death or permanent injury, and must be prevented or controlled to minimize harm to the worker.

In this course, you will learn about the physical properties, health hazards, and protection of H2S. In addition, you will also get to participate in hands on tasks including operating a self-contained breathing apparatus, performing drag exercises, and practicing a rescue lift. H2S Alive™ is the Hydrogen Sulphide safety ticket recognized in Alberta and will be provided upon successfully passing the course exam.

Outcomes
Upon successful completion of H2S Awareness training, you will:
  • understand safe work practices in the event of H2S exposure.
  • be able to recall health hazards, physical properties and protection of H2S.
  • obtain a Hydrogen Sulphide safety ticket.

This course has no prerequisites.
