Course Description
Are you a woman with little or no carpentry experience? Do want to overcome your fear of using power tools? Do you want to build basic skills in Woodworking? If you answered yes to any of these questions, this course is for you.

In Basic Woodworking for Women, you will learn how to safely use various materials, tools, and techniques integral for wood working. In our state-of-the-art carpentry shop, you will learn basic carpentry terminology, how to measure properly, and standard tool usage with a constant emphasis on the safe operation and handling of each tool. This course is project based allowing for maximum hands-on experience. What’s stopping you?

Outcomes

Upon successful completion of Basic Woodworking for Women, you will:
  • have gained knowledge and skills in basic woodworking.
  • confidently and safely use power tools.
  • define basic carpentry terminology.
  • obtain a Recognition of Participation certificate.
 
Prerequisites
This course has no prerequisites.

Notes
Participants will need to bring their own pair of safety glasses.

Basic course materials are included.  Personal Project materials are extra.
