Course Description
It is inevitable that employees will leave your organization. Being prepared for these departures will lessen the impact on the team and the organization. Succession planning, cross training, and knowledge transfer are key activities to ensuring that you are ready for employee departures.

As part of our Human Resource Essentials Series, this course will go through succession planning and will help you learn strategies to prepare for retirements and resignations. Start thinking about the future of your organization now, and be prepared to handle transitions gracefully and professionally.


Upon successful completion of Transitions and Succession Planning for Your Team, you will:
  • understand the need for a key role succession plan and be able to build one.
  • understand the value of cross training and know how to implement it.
  • be able to plan for employee departures.
  • obtain a Recognition of Participation certificate.
No prerequisites required.


This course is part of the Human Resources Series, but can be taken individually as well.

This course can be used toward the 150 hour requirement to obtain Blue Seal Certification. For more information go to,
