Pesticide Applicator Tutorial (Industrial) - Hybrid Delivery

Course Description
This tutorial is designed to help prepare you to write the Pesticide Applicator's Certification Exam (Industrial designation only). Topics include legislation & safety, herbicides & weed control, insecticides & disease control, calculations & calibration.

The tutorial combines one and a half days of classroom instruction and access to (5) webinar sessions.  The classroom instruction will focus on core material, calculations, and equipment.  The webinar material will be available for a 2-week period and can be viewed/reviewed multiple times.

The industrial designation includes the use of pesticides by ground application for controlling weeds and brush on industrial areas including roadsides, power lines, pipelines, rights of way, easements, railways, petroleum well sites and equipment yards.  This class also includes herbicide application to parking lots and landscaped areas surrounding industrial facilities for the control of designated noxious and restricted weeds.

 
Outcomes
Upon successful completion of Pesticide Applicator Tutorial (Industrial), you will:
  • have gained knowledge regarding application of pesticides in industrial areas.
  • reviewed the safety and legislation involved in pesticide application.
  • feel confident going into your Certified Pesticide Applicator Exam.

Please purchase home study material and bring the binder to the classroom sessions. Home study materials must be purchased separately through Lakeland College 10 business days prior to the start of the course. Call 1-780-853-8646.

Please book your on-line certification exam through Lakeland College (1 780-853-8646) at least 2 weeks prior to the start of the course.  Cost is approximately $225 + GST.  Students must be 18 years of age or older to become Certified Pesticide Applicators.
