Systems Thinking Microcredential

CourseGraphic

Course description

Systems thinking is an approach used to analyze the way a system's parts interconnect. People who become proficient in systems thinking are known as systems practitioners. Systems practitioners find themselves approaching everyday life and work differently—they look for the interrelatedness between the elements of a system and see how problems arise and how they can be remedied.

By learning how to listen effectively to stakeholders, to appreciate different world views, to draw out underlying perspectives, and to retain an awareness of how their own actions constantly impact the systems in which they work and live, systems practitioners are the change-makers and community builders that workplaces, families, and societies need.

With the prevalence of "systems thinking abilities" in job descriptions increasing, it's important to provide opportunities to build such skill sets—and this micro-credential sets out to do just that.
