Pesticide Applicator Tutorial (Industrial Only)

Course Description:
This tutorial is designed to help prepare you to write the Pesticide Applicator's Certification Exam in Landscape, Industrial or Agricultural areas. Topics include legislation & safety, herbicides & weed control, insecticides & disease control, calculations & calibration.

The tutorial offers two and a half days of classroom instruction.  Day 1 focuses on the core material and an introduction to calculations.  Calculations and equipment, biology, IPM and technical concepts will be covered on other day and a half.
For review purposes, access will be provided to one pre-recorded webinar session. This session will focus on Industrial application.  You will have access for a two week period following the in-person course
Online material is available 24/7 beginning on the date specified below in the class schedule.  You will receive an email with webinar links and password.
 
Industrial – The designation includes the use of pesticides by ground application for controlling weeds and brush on industrial areas including roadsides, power lines, pipelines, rights of way, easements, railways, petroleum well sites and equipment yards.  This class also includes herbicide application to parking lots and landscaped areas surrounding industrial facilities for the control of designated noxious and restricted weeds.


Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of Pesticide Applicator Tutorial (Industrial), you will:
  • gained knowledge regarding pesticide application in industrial areas.
  • reviewed the safety and legislation involved in pesticide application.
  • feel confident going into your Certified Pesticide Applicator Exam.

No prerequisites required.

A parking pass for a designated lot will be provided for the duration of this course.
 
Please purchase home study material and bring the binder to the classroom sessions. Home study materials must be purchased separately through Lakeland College 10 business days prior to the start of the course. Call 1-780-853-8646.
 
Please book your on-line certification exam through Lakeland College (1 780-853-8646) at least 2 weeks prior to date of the start of this course.  Cost is approximately $225 + GST. Students must be 18 years of age or older to become Certified Pesticide Applicators.
