Ozone Layer Protection Awareness

Course Description
This twelve-hour environmental awareness training course, based on Environment Canada's "Code of Practice for Elimination of Fluorocarbon Emissions in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Systems," deals with environmentally-correct equipment design, proper handling of refrigerants, and will prepare you to comply with provincial regulations covering refrigeration and air conditioning systems. 
During Ozone Layer Protection Awareness you will learn about the science of ozone depletion, isolation valving, recommended components, leak detection methods, system charging procedures, special maintenance provisions, refrigerant recovery, and reclamation equipment.

This course is strictly theory and does not incorporate hands-on training. Participants who attend the course and successfully achieve a mark of 75% or higher on the exam will receive certification in the form of an Ozone Depleting Substances (ODS) card.

Outcomes
Upon successful completion of Ozone Layer Protection Awareness, you will:
  • understand the science of ozone depletion.
  • be able to detect leaks in refrigeration and air conditioning systems .
  • receive certification in the form of an Ozone Depletion Substances (ODS) card.

This course has no prerequisites.
