Intro to Coaching and Developing Your Team

CourseGraphic
Course Description
To be a good leader, coaching is an essential component. When managers coach direct reports, organizations benefit. Coaching can help people gain greater self-awareness, increase their autonomy, reinforce strengths, and take more responsibility for their own development and career path. Direct reports will also allow employees to implement their individual development plans and be more engaged in their work.

Unfortunately, not enough managers are taught how to coach. This training will explore how managers can more effectively coach direct reports. It is key to understand that there are both formal and informal ways to coach. In fact, managers are probably doing much of what is required from informal coaching already. Coaching does not require a radical change in managing style or a massive time commitment from you. It is the art of give and take and about helping your people to self-discover a better way to achieve results.
